Cell growth in vitro and in vivo of benign and malignant tumors, e.g. gastro-intestinal, ovarian and mesenchymal origin, prognosis of ovarian tumors, gynecological pathology, molecular mechanisms of cytostatic drug resistance, molecular pathology, telepathology.
Cell culture, immunocytochemistry, electron microscopy, DNA-cytophotometry, in-situ hybridization, PCR, molecular biology, DNA-arrays, methylation arrays, tissue micro arrays, special nano-techniques for preparation of DNA and RNA from FF-PET, MALDI-TOF, telepathology.
Approx. 500.000 paraffin blocks of all kinds of tissue, in particular malignant tumors, 40% with detailed clinical information and 10% with 5-year follow-up.
Experienced researchers: Prof. M. Dietel, head of institute, specialist in surgical and molecular pathology; PD Dr. Kristiansen, head of translational research unit and molecular diagnostic.
