The Division of Surgical, Molecular and Ultrastructural Pathology in the Department of Oncology of the University of Pisa and Pisa University Hospital provides about 10.000 histologic diagnosis per year. 50% of its activity is related to neoplastic diseases: breast, pancreas, GI tract and Obgyn pathology are the main fields of interest of the Division. Moreover, a molecular pathology section releases more than 1.000 molecular reports per year regarding the most commonly involved oncogenes and oncosuppressor genes in the cancerogenetic and tumor progression processes of each apparatus.
